PRESS RELEASE:

The Cuming County Board of Supervisors will be considering steps to study long range planning for the County’s communication system.  Due to increased pushes by the State Government to reduce spending, employee turnover, and the increasing costs in communication equipment, the board would like to study options available to provide services without interruption as well as keeping the services local as much as possible.  The study will explore the possibility of an interlocal agreement with an outside public service answering point to aid with calls during peak times, times when the department is understaffed due to turnover, or paid time off.  The Board will be discussing forming a committee to conduct a study on August 14, 2024, in the 2nd floor meeting room in the Cuming County Courthouse.  All interested parties are encouraged to attend or reach out to your county supervisor with comments.
