NOTICE TO BIDDERS

Sealed bids will be received by the Cuming County Clerk until Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 9:15 a.m., for the labor and materials necessary to replace the existing concrete approaches of
(#1)Bridge 15D and (#2)Bridge C002002915. The bids will be opened and awarded by the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. during their regularly scheduled meeting.

These projects will be replacing the existing concrete approaches to Project 1 located approximately ¼ mile miles north of D Road on 15 Road, bridge # is 15D and is located in Cuming County, Nebraska; Project 2 located approximately 3/8 mile north of E Road on 15 Road, bridge # is C002002915 and is located in Cuming County, Nebraska.

Project 1 shall include labor and materials necessary to replace the existing approaches to Bridge 15D, pricing includes removing the existing concrete approaches, furnish & install new 7ga. abutment sheet pile behind the existing, furnish and install new sheet pile caps, furnish all structural steel and reinforcing steel, and install new concrete approaches with #5 epoxy coated rebar.

Project 2 shall include labor and materials necessary to replace the existing approaches to Bridge C002002915, pricing includes removing the existing concrete approaches, furnish and install new sheet pile caps, furnish all structural steel and reinforcing steel, and install new concrete approaches with #5 epoxy coated rebar.

Copies of the Bid Documents and Specifications are open to public inspection at the office of the Cuming County Highway Superintendent, 200 South Lincoln Street, Room 202, West Point, Nebraska 68788. A set of documents may be obtained from the Cuming County Clerk, Cuming County Courthouse, 200 S Lincoln, Room 100, West Point, NE, 68788. All Bid Proposals must be submitted on the forms furnished with the Bid Documents. Contact the Cuming County Highway Superintendent for exact measurements.

The sealed bids may be mailed or delivered to the Cuming County Clerk, Cuming County Courthouse, 200 South Lincoln Street, Room 100, West Point, Nebraska 68788, and should be plainly marked as, “Bridge Approaches Bid Proposal”.

Along with its Bid Proposal, each bidder shall submit an unconditional Bid Bond or Certified Check made payable to the County Treasurer of Cuming County, Nebraska, in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the Bid Proposal. Also, each bidder is to provide a Start of Construction date and an End of Construction date with their Bid Proposal. The successful bidder (i.e. Contractor) will be allowed sixty (60) calendar days for completion after beginning work, provided they do not exceed their specified completion date.

Within ten (10) days following the award of the Contract, the successful bidder shall furnish a surety bond or bonds in an amount equal to or greater than the full amount of the contract. The surety and form of the bonds are subject to acceptance by the Cuming County Board of Supervisors.

Cuming County, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Dept of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally assisted programs of the Dept of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidden that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, sex, age and disability/handicap in consideration for award.

The Cuming County Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any irregularities in bids received. Award of the Contract will be in accordance with the County Purchasing Act’s competitive bidding considerations as set forth in Neb.Rev.Stat. §§ 23-3110 to 23-3114.
